Diving in Nusa Penida feels a bit like diving in the highlights, especially around September and October! This is when the super cold upwelling currents hit the reef, bringing with them incredible pelagic life. This year had a record number of sightings of the mythical Mola Mola, elusive Thresher sharks, elegant Manta rays, majestic Hammerhead sharks and even a once in a lifetime sighting of a Great White shark in cold Penida waters. Promotional video for Bali Diving Academy showcasing the resorts and diving in six locations around Bali. Pemuteran and Menjangan offer incredible wall diving, a beautiful BioRock house reef right off the beach and sites covered with huge sea fans and a myriad of unusual marine life. Tulamben is most famous for the Liberty wreck, but also has a great wall dive and wonderful macro life. Amed is macro heaven but also has some unique sites such as Pyramids and with huge fields of garden eels and man-made reefs that are home to schooling fish and many strange critters. Padang Bai has a wide variety of reefs with beautiful corals, great macro and turtles as well. And Lembongan has to be one of the most famous dive locations around Bali, famous for its manta interactions, beautiful coral gardens, currents and cold water which bring the pelagics and masses of schooling fish onto the reef. This is also an IDC center and what better place to learn to become a dive instructor?
